When are the next Fireworks?

The next major fireworks are for Riverfire.  This will be held on the 1 September 2007.

Are dogs allowed at South Bank?

Dogs are welcome at South Bank Parklands.  For more information read the dog and carer rules.

When are the South Bank Art & Craft Markets on?

The South Bank Art & Craft Markets are held on:

Friday nights from 5pm to 10pm
Saturdays from 11am to 5pm
Sundays 9am to 5pm

The South Bank Art & Craft Markets are located in the Stanley Street Plaza.  

How much does it cost to have a stall at the South Bank Art & Craft Markets?

Can you book the barbeques in the parklands?

No, the 14 barbeques in the parklands are available on a first in/first served basis.

Are there ATM's at South Bank?

There is a Commonwealth Bank and an ANZ ATM in Stanley Street Plaza, beside the Visitor Information Centre. There is a Suncorp ATM located in the Central Cafes between Kapsali and New Zealand Natural.
There are two Westpac ATM's in Grey Street, opposite the South Bank 5 Cinema Complex.
There is also a Bank of Queensland ATM at the Bank of Queensland branch in Little Stanley Street.  

Can you drink alcohol in the parklands?

Yes, but it is permitted only in signed areas - Riverside Green and Formal Gardens Green between 10am & 8pm with the consumption of a substantial meal. South Bank Corporation may remove this authority at any time.  You can also drink alcohol in licensed premises. 

How much does it cost to enter South Bank?

Nothing! It is always free.

How much does it cost to park at South Bank?

Can you hire bikes/rollerblades at South Bank?

The closest hirer of bikes is Riders Cyclery you can contact them on (07) 3846 6200. The bikes are $12 for an hour, $20 for a half day and $30 for a full day with a $50 deposit paid in either cash or credit. Riders Cyclery are open 9am - 5pm weekdays and 9am - 4pm on weekends.

To hire rollerblades contact "Skate Biz" on (07) 3220 0157.  They are in the city at 101 Albert Street. $12.50 gets you 2 hours hire, including all safety gear. Or hire the rollerblades overnight for only $20.

Bikes and rollerblades may only be used at South Bank along the Clem Jones Promenade.

Can I hire wheelchairs and/or strollers at South Bank?

Yes, the Visitor Information Centre hires wheelchairs and strollers

When does Streets Beach close?

Lifeguards are on duty at Streets Beach during the following hours:

1 Dec to 31 Jan - 7am to 12midnight
1 Feb to 31 Mar - 7am to 7pm
1 Apr to 31 Aug - 9am to 5pm
1 Sep to 20 Sep - 9am to 6pm
21 Sep to 30 Nov - 7am to 7pm  

How do I get to South Bank?

South Bank is conveniently located in the heart of Brisbane with local bus, train and ferry connections from almost anywhere in Brisbane.

Is there a parents’ room at South Bank?

Yes, at the following locations:

  • Stanley Street Plaza, behind the Visitor Information Centre
  • Queensland Art Gallery

Are there any areas in the Parklands that are non-smoking?

There is no smoking allowed at Streets Beach or within 10 metres of a playground, due to State laws. Read about the other rules in place at South Bank Parklands.
